Why Hypergraphs?

The OpenCog Atomspace is a hypergraph database that can be used as a programming language. It allows the representation of various modern AI concepts such as Bayesian networks, Markov networks, artificial neural networks and others. However, its current implementation suffers from inefficiency, over-complication, weak distribution, non-scalability, and single-threaded architecture. Despite these challenges, the OpenCog Atomspace holds great potential for AI programming if proper tools and syntax are developed to harness its capabilities.
