Maxim Marshall - eInk VNC

The eInk VNC is a Command Line Interface (CLI) tool that enables users to view remote screens via Video Graphics Array (VGA) on eInk displays, including Kobo e-readers. Optimized for text-based workflows, it achieves a high frame rate of 30 frames per second (FPS). It is confirmed to work with TightVNC and Kobo Libra 2, but may also work with other Kobo devices.

The tool offers a fast refresh rate, but this can damage the eInk display if used with content that changes rapidly, such as videos. The software is experimental and untested on most devices, so users are warned to exercise caution.

To connect to a Virtual Network Computing (VNC) server, one would use the command ./einkvnc [IP_ADDRESS] [PORT] [OPTIONS], for example: ./einkvnc 192.168.2.1 5902 –password abcdefg123 –contrast 2.
