Meredith Whittaker: "We won't participate in the surveillance business model"

Meredith Whittaker is the new president of the Signal Foundation and has given a wide-ranging interview about her distrust of big tech, messenger encryption, and the fundamental problems of AI. She founded Google’s Open Research program and was one of the main organizers of the “Google Walkouts” in 2017 against sexual harassment and discrimination. After leaving Google in 2019, Whittaker has continued to speak out about issues within the tech industry.
